iPhone iOS13 VoLTE

Phone iOS 13 VoLTE/VoWiFi basic version for non certificated networks limitations:

1. No support for VoWiFi  (WiFi Calling)

2. No support for Conference Call

3. VoLTE: iPhone sends the voice packets with an inferior codec: AMR-WB 12.65 (used in 2G and 3G) . AMR-WB 23.85 codec is expected since the call is negotiated using this codec. People complain already about bad voice quality when using iPhone.

4. No support for SIP Preconditions: can impact different call scenarios


To be tested in every network:

• Alerting  SRVCC (aSRVCC) for Mobile Originating  and Mobile Terminating scenarios  : handover to 2G/3G while the phone is in ringing phase
• Mid call SRVCC: handover in 2G/3G while the iPhone put already someone else in call hold.
• Early media : call to anouncements/IVR
• SMS/IP
• Changing Supplementary Services (like call forwarding) over IP
• Support for EVS codec

2. select all CTRL+C, UltraEdit, CTRL+V, search for 2020, copy the clipboard, paste in new text file, search for vodafone_ro

3. download https://updates.cdn-apple.com/2020/carrierbundles/001-02869-20200429-0da0780b-4308-4393-8fe9-e83ac2d15389/Vodafone_ro_iPhone.ipcc , unzip

4. install iBackup Viewer (for Windows): Menu/ Tools / Property List Viewer
