Shannon DM: (ShannonDM Diagnostic Monitor)

The SHANNON DM is a diagnostic monitoring tool for SHANNON modem chipset. The DM collects three types of messages – metric, IP and message sent by modem in a mobile device. The status information extracted from the metric is displayed in two kinds of views- table and list. The message is also shown in two kind of view – list and sequence chart. The DM can capture IP packets (including VoLTE), and the captured packets can be analyzed with Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org) under both of real time and replay mode.

The DM can see a log in real-time, save, and replay a log, which help you to analyze the log conveniently.

1. Open *#9900#

2. Select debug level medium. The device will reboot.

3. Reopen that menu and press silent log,

4. It will ask you for an OTP, enter it.

5. Press OK. This will start the log.

6. Do whatever you want to be logged, for example turn airplane mode on and off, turn 4G off and on etc.

7. Go back to that menu and press silent log again to stop the log.

 

Logs are saved in internal storage with a .sdm extension

This method require ShannonDM software on Windows. Please find this program from internet or use Scat.

• Connect phone to your computer with USB
• Dial to *#0808# and enable RNDIS + ACM + DM + ADB and click OK to save settings. Don't reboot your phone.
• Open ShannonDM on Windows.

• Open Preference (blue) and click Auto Detect Modem Interface (red) and Apply settings and OK.

• Now you can start record with recording button (red). Shannon will ask where to save log file.
• Switch your device to Airplane Mode, wait few second and turn Airplane mode off. Wait some time to get connected to 4G LTE network.
• Stop logging with same button you started recording. Wait few minutes so Shannon complete writing log file
